Art: Erwin Olaf

The other day I ran across photographer and filmmaker Erwin Olaf.
I love his edited photography style and calm yet dark way of filming. Even the way he portrays women interests me.

Personal Artwork...

After having an epiphany as an artist a while back, I went on my Facebook an deleted all the personal work I had. Compared to now and what I feel I can do as an artist that shit was NOTHING.

Anyways, I was working on a banner for the blog page and I figure I let you know who did it ^_^.
I love this a lot. The style was influenced by SVA graduate Alex Pardee. (I'm interested in going to that school now!)

I'll be falling through with this picture and making it a series. So look for more.

http://www.paperself.com/ps%20%20all.html

We have a paper making class at my college. Plus in 2D Design class we do a lot of cut paper projects.
However beyond our class are people who are TOTAL masters at paper cutting. This amazing idea of making eyelashes is something I came across a while back.
Enjoy

Lost Goddess...

The Hunter...

I was looking up Hyenas for some art that i want to do soon. Hyenas can be very symbolic and i can't wait to get a chance to do some personal work for my new portfolio. While searching i kept coming across these pictures of men who held on to their own hyena like trophies. Strong bold men, with silly acting, but dangerous wild animals? So come to find out this was a part of a project by a photographer named Pieter Hugo who's from Africa. He's Hyena Man series was shown in New York. He also has other work including portraits of albino African people.

Christian Dior Couture Spring 2010

Chanel Couture Spring 2010

I'm very impressed with the couture for Spring 2010. Its so artistic and fantastic! I've noticed fashion has been looking like "Just get the shit out there" recently. Its been a fucking MESS! But I think the market will probably turn for the better this year and we'll see some amazing things. So hang on to your Haute panties fashionistas and Nistos!

MOODS of EGON SCHIELE

The photography above automatically reminded me the the outstanding emotional art of Egon Schiele. His life is very interesting and worth looking up. I'll be watching for more work inspired by famous master artist.
